Mark I'm not religious in the slightest but I've played this in the run up to Xmas for 9 years in a row now; it's simply beautiful. Gorgeous renditions / arrangements of tunes that I'd otherwise eschew, and very much part of my personal Xmas tradition. Favorite track: Mvmt IV, "Every Bell On Earth Will Ring".

Ponkool4 It's one of the few contemporary Christmas albums that features hymns in an inventive way, and that's why it's my favorite Christmas album. Favorite track: Mvmt II, "Begin and Never Cease".

thehartnett A truly inspired work. Amidst the hustle and bustle of commercial Christmas comes a piece of art that launches out of the 'reason for the season' into the fullness of life itself, making it music for all seasons. I don't know how you did it, but thank you! Favorite track: Mvmt III, "Silent Night, Holy Night".

about

"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not; for, behold, I bring you tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace and goodwill towards men."

The Oh Hellos began in a cluttered bedroom, where siblings Maggie and Tyler Heath recorded their self-titled EP in 2011. In the fall of 2012, the sibling duo released their debut full-length record Through the Deep, Dark Valley, an album full of regret and redemption, which they wrote, recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered themselves. ... more
